“my artistic practice begins with action. It happens in public, it happens with others. A shared momentum through color. My aim is to create a dynamic and interactive experience that embodies the spirit of activism through direct and tangible action.

During these participatory action paintings, I collect the color that splashes from the wall onto the floor and enlarge tiny parts to the point of hyper-reality.

Through this gesture of looking closer, I explore hidden connections and chaotic possibilities. I am driven by a desire to expand the range of realities and perspectives.”

Jana Linke (b. 1978) is a multidisciplinary artist currently residing and working in Athens and Berlin. Her practice is dedicated to the artistic investigation of space and process.

She earned her Absolvent*innen and Meisterschüler*innen title in art and media at the University of the Arts Berlin, followed by a research fellowship at the Graduate School for the Arts University of the Arts Berlin.

Her work has been shown at the Transmediale Berlin, Edith-Russ-Haus Oldenburg, HAU1 Berlin, WINZAVOD Center for Contemporary Art in Moscow, KW Institute for Contemporary Art Berlin, IFAC Athina, Fridman Gallery New York and Victoria Square Project Athens among others.
