In Athens' lively Kypseli neighbourhood, a workshop at Negri Fokionos Primary School in 2022 transforms a plain wall into a vibrant canvas of joy. Sixteen eager nine-year-olds gather in pairs on the top floor of an open staircase, armed with paints and action painting tools.

Enthusiastic and proud, sometimes in awe, each child splashes the paint on the wall to the cheers of their classmates. The resulting dynamic artwork adds a new layer to the school's murals and symbolises the pupils' contribution to the aesthetic and cultural identity of their school. Now, the young artists proudly declare, "This is our painting".
